Student Concerts in the Perot Theatre

Link Up Partnership with Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute

Orchestra-Sings.jpg

The Texarkana Symphony Orchestra is one of 120 national and international orchestras chosen for the Link Up program. Link Up orchestras pair with students in grades 3-5 to explore orchestral repertoire and fundamental musical skills, including creative work and composition, through a hands-on music curriculum. This partnership also provides a high quality, year-long curriculum that teachers can implement, along with classroom materials, online video and audio resources, and the professional development and support necessary to make the program an engaging experience for students. Schools participating in the Link Up program have priority seating during TSO’s annual Student Concerts in the Perot Theatre where they sing, move, and play recorder or violin with the orchestra from their seats! Carnegie Hall supports TSO’s existing education programs and strengthens their partnerships with local schools.

TSO In-school Workshops

TSO professional musicians visit school classrooms, perform with their instruments, explain their musical technique, and address technical and musical issues with young performers.

Maestro and Career Talks

TSO’s Maestro or artistic staff will visit schools and give a 40-minute musical career presentation or pre-concert lecture – an ideal format for middle or high school.

Guest Artists in Schools

Selected TSO guest artists will visit schools prior to TSO concerts to interact with students, present preview performances, workshops, lectures and master classes.

Concert Previews

At 6:10pm, before every Masterworks program, the Maestro will introduce each concert with an informative talk the whole family will enjoy. Concert Previews are also offered to civic clubs and organizations throughout the region.

Enhance Your Experience

TSO’s donor benefits are designed to provide you with up-close access to the music and musicians.  As your donor level increases, so does your opportunity to meet TSO musicians and guest artists and receive invitations to special events and post-concert receptions.

Your Support is Vital

TSO accepts gifts of any size, and there are multiple ways to make an impact.  Donate securities, name the TSO as an insurance policy or IRA beneficiary, request a matching gift from your company, or include the Symphony in your will.  Donations are accepted year-round, and payment options can be set up yearly, quarterly, or monthly.
