Student Concerts in the Perot Theatre
Link Up Partnership with Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute

The Texarkana Symphony Orchestra is one of 120 national and international orchestras chosen for the Link Up program. Link Up orchestras pair with students in grades 3-5 to explore orchestral repertoire and fundamental musical skills, including creative work and composition, through a hands-on music curriculum. This partnership also provides a high quality, year-long curriculum that teachers can implement, along with classroom materials, online video and audio resources, and the professional development and support necessary to make the program an engaging experience for students. Schools participating in the Link Up program have priority seating during TSO’s annual Student Concerts in the Perot Theatre where they sing, move, and play recorder or violin with the orchestra from their seats! Carnegie Hall supports TSO’s existing education programs and strengthens their partnerships with local schools.
TSO In-school Workshops
TSO professional musicians visit school classrooms, perform with their instruments, explain their musical technique, and address technical and musical issues with young performers.
Guest Artists in Schools
Selected TSO guest artists will visit schools prior to TSO concerts to interact with students, present preview performances, workshops, lectures and master classes.
Concert Previews
At 6:10pm, before every Masterworks program, the Maestro will introduce each concert with an informative talk the whole family will enjoy. Concert Previews are also offered to civic clubs and organizations throughout the region.
